Come and celebrate the special people in your life and get creative through portraiture.

Inspired by our phenomenal ‘The Time is Always Now’ exhibition, come and celebrate the special people in your life and get creative through portraiture.

Join us on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during the school holidays for a range of brilliant free arts and crafts sessions, plus special family walking tours with our team on selected dates!

Full details are available from our website, but here’s an overview of our arts and crafts activities, all of which take place from 10.30am-12.30pm (last entries 12.15pm) and 1.30pm-3.30pm (3.15pm):

Tue 23-Thu 25 Jul: Nurtured in Nature
Come and draw your favourite people and we’ll create a big community of people who we love.

Tue 30 Jul-Thu 1 Aug: Joyful Relationships
Create prints that celebrate the things we love about our friends and favourite people.

Tue 6-Thu 8 Aug: Playfully Creative
Draw silhouettes and fill them with fun things that you love doing.

Tue 13-Thu 15 Aug: My Perfect Summer’s Day
Sunglasses often reflect what makes us happy, like friends, favourite places or animals. Create art that reflects what makes you happy.

Tue 20-Thu 22 Aug: Confidently Empowered
Be proud of who you are and create your own face or body from air dry clay tiles.

Tue 27-Thu 29 Aug: Calm and Comfortable
Make and decorate a frame for pictures that have been created throughout the summer, or your photos at home.

Free family-friendly tours of The Time is Always Now: Artists Reframe the Black Figure will take place on Tuesday 23 July and Wednesday 14 August from 12.45pm-1.15pm. Come and explore our blockbuster summer exhibition with a special tour especially for families with art curator, Terah Walkup. We’ll begin in our St Luke’s gallery before heading to spaces in our main building. Sign up on the day.
