Join The Box for our first ever Ceilidh (kay-lee)!

Get your dancing shoes ready and celebrate the start of spring with an evening you won’t forget hosted by the Freedom Fields Ceilidh Band. The word ceilidh comes from the Gaelic word for gathering or party with a ‘caller’ who explains a series of dance moves that you can do with a group or a partner to some brilliant live music. No previous experience is necessary so come and join us under the Royal Naval ship’s figureheads for a night of dancing, fun and music.

Never been to a Ceilidh before? It’s a popular choice for anyone looking for a memorable night out that gets everyone involved. Think toe-tapping folk music and easy-to-follow dance moves! Here’s what to expect:

– An experienced caller who will guide you through the steps
– A mix of dances that are perfect for beginners
– Social partner dances that involve the whole group or smaller group formations
– Dances throughout the evening with breaks to catch your breath and enjoy the atmosphere
– The fantastic Freedom Fields Ceilidh Band playing a mix of traditional Irish, Scottish, and English tunes

7-11pm.

This event is for over 16s and all abilities are welcome. Tickets are non-refundable.
