Visit to Hestercombe House and Gardens Taunton
More information

Hestercombe is famous for a unique collection of gardens which span three centuries of history and design. The Edwardian Formal Garden is hailed as one of the finest examples of the world-renowned partnership between garden designer Gertrude Jekyll and architect Sir Edwin Lutyens. The estate has undergone acclaimed restoration works and continues to develop and grow, giving visitors a stunning setting to explore, learn and relax. https://www.hestercombe.com/history

The special programme for the day includes both a tour of the garden led by head gardener, Claire Greenslade, and an introduction to the contemporary art galleries by artistic director, Tim Martin, curator for Design for Life – Art and Architecture – Part 1. The exhibition encompasses drawings, paintings, sculpture, models, photographs, films, and plans, including late work by Le Corbusier and 18th/19th century watercolours from Hestercombe’s own collections to explore the historical inter-relation of artists and architects.

Please make your own way to Hestercombe – we will email all ticket holders before the day to confirm an exact meeting location.
