This coming early May Bank Holiday weekend, why not join Thomas, the famous ‘Number One’ blue engine, at the South Devon Railway from Saturday 4th to Monday 6th May for a train ride unlike any other.
Thomas has come all the way from the Island of Sodor for a full day of family fun based at Buckfastleigh and all along the line just off the A38.
And one man who will definitely be there, but in a special outfit is former career soldier John Keohane — who served as Chief Yeoman Warder at HM Tower of London for 21 years during his 27 years of military service – and who will swap his former Beefeater uniform to play the key role of the ‘Fat Controller’ and be on hand to make sure that Thomas is being a really useful engine!
A ‘Day Out With Thomas’ is an event the whole family can enjoy and there is so much to see and do to fill an entire day.
This includes train rides between Buckfastleigh and Totnes Riverside all day, plus shuttles with Daisy the railcar; rides behind Thomas and other engines, and the ‘Imagination Station’ featuring Thomas storytelling, plus, of course, the hugely entertaining Thomas re-enactments helped by Rusty and Dusty at Buckfastleigh.
Pre-booking via the railway’s website is strongly recommended at https://www.southdevonrailway.co.uk/events/thomas/
