Your furry family members are free to enjoy the sights and sounds of the forest before a refreshing drink at one of our freshly topped-up water bowls. We just ask you to follow our simple dog code to make sure everyone has a great time and leaves with a waggy tail.
British weatherproof
Don’t let a soggy British summer spoil your holiday. Rain never stops play at Haldon Forest Park! Our all-weather trails are open all year round for your fresh air fix. And our cafe is open daily to warm you up with a steaming hot chocolate. Grab your jacket and head to the forest to make sure no hour of your family time is wasted.
Immerse yourself in nature
It’s impossible not to feel rejuvenated when you’re surrounded by towering trees, diverse wildlife, and the sounds of birds. It’s so easy to feel at one with nature. Simply slow your steps and let your senses come alive to the sights, sounds, and scents. Haldon Forest Park is home to protected habitats and wildlife, including as nightjar, adder, and pearl bordered fritillary butterflies, as well as several species of deer. For the best nature-spotting experience, we recommend visiting earlier in the day or in the evening.
Keep it cool
When – or if – the weather hots up, Haldon Forest Park is the perfect destination to keep everyone cool and comfortable. Stay cool beneath the tree canopy and feel the breeze fluttering through the trees. We can’t think of anything better than a relaxing picnic in the shade. Choose one of our picnic tables with kids’ play areas close by, or throw down a blanket in your favourite spot.
